Overview and History
Centennial Hall was built in 1950 and its lobby and staircases with brass railings
reflect the art deco designs of the era. Centennial is one of four halls located
on adjacent blocks known collectively as the "Superblock" on the Minneapolis
campus' East Bank.
Centennial houses approximately 700 guests in primarily
single rooms with a limited number of double rooms & suites. Often one room
is used as a bedroom and the other as a living area.
Some accessible rooms and facilities are available for individuals with disabilities.
The dining hall in Centennial is shared with Territorial Hall and is connected
by tunnel.
East Bank Campus
The East Bank is home to programs such as Mathematics, Engineering, Science,
Women's Studies, Psychology, Architecture, and Language Studies among others.
Centennial is near Williams (basketball) and Mariucci (hockey) arenas, the University
Hospital/Health Sciences complex, the new Sports Pavilion, University Recreational
Center, Natatorium (swimming) and Stadium Village, a local shopping and eating
area.
